Shenoah Grove owns and operates the Houston Real Estate Networking Club (Houston RENC), along with her husband, Phill Grove. She’s been part of the group since 2003 and has nurtured it’s growth over the years, keeping it fresh and up to date with the latest strategies, technology and more.
Shenoah brings in local speakers and vendors that provide content and value to the club members. What’s different about Houston Real Estate Networking Club is that this club does not promote “national gurus” who come in to town just to sell their course. What she’s found is those out of state gurus are never tied into the local Houston investing market. So that means many of the things they teach don’t work in San Antonio. They may sound appealing and easy but at the end of the day if they don’t work, or worse are illegal (which we’ve seen that too….), it’ll be frustrating and time wasting. No one wants that and that’s why we guard against that so fiercely to only bring you the best-in-class and local speakers to help our members.
Every single presentation and speaker must pass their strict standards before they are allowed to present at the REIA. The reason they sticks so strictly to this policy is because of their own experience as real estate investors and being in the audience. They know that a club will only grow and thrive in an environment where the club members feel supported and are able to get truly valuable information.
Most REIAs bring in out of state speakers to make money and support the club. However, if the vision of the speaker is not congruent with the mission of the club, they will forgo the short term revenue to build relationships with the REIA members instead. That’s their philosophy and they stick to it.
Over the years, many people have asked the question, “If they are so successful, why would they run a real estate club?” That’s a fair question. The answer…. They love what they do in investing and in helping others. It was this association that brought them their first deal, the first lender, their first attorney, their first forms for buying subject-to the existing mortgage, their first contractor and more. This club changed their lives and the believe in the quote by Mohammad Ali that “Service to others is the price you pay for your room here on this earth”. Maintaining and growing this association is part of how they give back to the investors and pay back the debt they owe to this association for changing their lives.
In addition to their presence and leadership at the Houston REIA, Phill and Shenoah are well known local investors and have followers nationwide. They are prized speakers because of their no B.S. approach to investing and their step by step teaching method.
Shenoah has been investing in real estate since 2003. She holds a B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from Rice University. She’s also a REALTOR and Broker licensed in Texas. Phill has also been investing in real estate since 2003. He hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from George Washington University.
Together, at any moment, they typically hold title to 30 or more residential rental and/or fix and flip properties in Texas. They live on Lake Austin with their son, Zilker.
